Black Crowes will bring reunion tour to PNC Bank Arts Center

An official announcement has not been made yet, but the Black Crowes are planning to reunite in 2020 and bring the tour to the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, among other venues.

An electronic billboard was spotted this morning in Penn Station in New York, advertising that the band will play its Shake Your Money Maker album in its entirety, as well as “all the hits,” at the PNC Bank Arts Center on July 17, as well as at the Northwell Health at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, N.Y., July 18.

It also has been announced that Chris and Rich Robinson, the often-feuding brothers who co-lead the band, will be joined on the tour by four musicians who have not previously been Black Crowes: bassist Tim Lefebvre, drummer Raj Ojha, guitarist Isaiah Mitchell and keyboardist Joel Robinow.)

Shake Your Money Maker, released in 1989, was the band’s debut album, and included songs such as “Hard to Handle,” “Jealous Again,” “She Talks to Angels,” Twice as Hard” and “Seeing Things.”

The band last performed together in 2014, and has not released a studio album since Before the Frost … Until the Freeze, in 2009. Chris and Rich Robinson have undertaken a number of solo projects since then.
