The Celebrating David Bowie tour has announced upcoming shows at the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank and BergenPAC in Englewood.

The Celebrating David Bowie tour — which came to New Jersey last year for shows at the Union County Performing Arts Center in Rahway and Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City — will return to the state this year at different venues, and with a different lineup.

The shows will take place at the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank on April 16 and BergenPAC in Englewood on April 17. Tickets go on sale Feb. 24 at noon for Red Bank through ticketmaster.com, with pre-sales beginning Feb. 23. Tickets go on sale Feb. 24 at 11 a.m. for Englewood, also through ticketmaster.com.

While Adrian Belew, Royston Langdon (of Spacehog), multi-instrumentalist Ron Dziubla and bandleader Angelo “Scrote” Bundini will be back, the rest of the lineup will be new: singer Peter Murphy (a solo artist and member of the influential goth-rock band Bauhaus), bassist Matt McJunkins and drummer Jeff Friedl (both of A Perfect Circle) and guitarist Eric Schermerhorn (whose credits include playing with Bowie’s Tin Machine band on tour in 1991 and 1992).

“This new show represents two sides of Bowie,” said Bundini in a press release. “With Peter Murphy, we have the dark baritone shrouded in mystery and wonder. With Adrian Belew, the tuneful tenor gleefully singing Bowie favorites while delivering the otherworldly guitar playing he is revered for.”

According to a press release, the tour will “interpret Bowie’s greatest hits with a special emphasis on Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust proto punk era, his Berlin trilogy records (Low, Heroes, and Lodger) and his later Trent Reznor infused years.”
