Darlene Love had some high-powered help when she performed “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” on the ABC television show “The View,” Dec. 15. She was backed by Steven Van Zandt and his Disciples of Soul Band.

You can watch the performance below.

“All hail the Queen of Christmas, Darlene Love,” said “The View” co-host Whoopi Goldberg while introducing the song. Love also sang the Van Zandt-written “All Alone for Christmas.” You can watch that in the second video below; the performance begins at the 3-minute mark.

Love first recorded “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” for the 1963 album, A Christmas Gift for You From Phil Spector. It was not initially a hit single but has gained popularity through the years, and Love performed it annually from 1986 to 2014 on “Late Night With David Letterman” and “Late Show With David Letterman,” on the last show before Letterman’s Christmas break. Since 2015, she has been doing the same on “The View.”

Love will present holiday shows at The Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, Dec. 15; The Tarrytown Music Hall, Dec. 17; and The Newton Theatre, Dec. 22 at 8 p.m.

Cher, who sang backing vocals on the original 1963 version of “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home),” included a new duet version with Love on her holiday album Christmas, which was released in October.
