Elton John will bring his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour to MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford on July 23, 2022. Tickets go on sale June 30 at 10 a.m., with pre-sales beginning June 23 at noon; visit ticketmaster.com.
The farewell tour started in September 2018; has already stopped in New Jersey once (in March 2019, at the Prudential Center in Newark); and will be back at the Prudential Center for a show on Feb. 25 (rescheduled from April 2020).
Paused since March 2020 because of the pandemic, the tour will resume in September and is scheduled to end in January 2023 in New Zealand.
Other tour stops will include Madison Square Garden in Manhattan, Feb. 22-23; the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, March 1-2; the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, N.Y., March 5-6; and Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, July 15, 2022.
John has never performed at MetLife Stadium, though he did present five shows with Billy Joel at Giants Stadium in 1994. Giants Stadium closed in January 2010 and was demolished later that year. MetLife Stadium was built near it in the Meadowlands Sports Complex and opened in April 2010.
