GLEN BURTNIK
Glen Burtnik has not presented one of his Christmas concerts, formerly an annual tradition, since 2013, but will do so again this year, Dec. 23 at the State Theatre in New Brunswick. Tickets for the show, titled Glen Burtnik’s Xmas, will go on sale at 10 a.m. July 22, with a pre-sale at 10 a.m. July 21.

Burtnik’s Christmas shows traditionally have featured holiday songs by a broad range of collaborators, unannounced in advance. It sounds like this year’s show will be the same.
According to a message on the State Theatre’s web site:
Glen Burtnik returns home to New Brunswick with his XMAS show! The tradition is returning to The State with Glen Burtnik and a collection of some of the most talented performers from across New Jersey coming together to perform holiday favorites.
Burtnik’s Xmas Xtravaganzas, as they were always titled in the past, have featured guests such as Patti Smith, Phoebe Snow, Idina Menzel, Marshall Crenshaw, Willie Nile, Patty Smyth and Fred Schneider.

In the more immediate future, Burtnik and his band The Weeklings will open for Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes at the Mayo Performing Arts Center in Morristown on July 15. Visit mayoarts.org.
