Glen Burtnik and Christina Shafer will get married at the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park, Sept. 19.
Glen Burtnik, who got engaged to Christina Shafer onstage at the Stone Pony in December, will marry her up the Asbury Park boardwalk, on Sept. 19, in a show being advertised as “Glen Burtnik’s Love Concert: A Rock ‘n Roll Celebration, including the Wedding of Christina & Glen.” Tickets, priced from $27 to $57, are on sale via Ticketmaster.com.
Burtnik is a longtime mainstay of the New Jersey rock scene whose main current project is the Beatles-inspired band, The Weeklings. He made his Stone Pony proposal while making his acceptance speech for receiving the Living Legend Award at the 22nd annual Asbury Music Awards show.
