Rob Halford, left, and Glenn Tipton of Judas Priest at the Prudential Center in Newark, March 20.

Last month, Judas Priest announced that longtime guitarist Glenn Tipton would not be able to participate in its current Firepower Tour, due to Parkinson’s disease. Tipton is still considered a band member; however, guitarist Andy Sneap has been hired to round out the band’s touring quintet, also featuring singer Rob Halford, guitarist Richie Faulkner, bassist Ian Hill and drummer Scott Travis.

Tipton, though, made a guest appearance on the tour’s fifth show, March 20 at the Prudential Center in Newark, playing on the three encores. You can watch the performance below, under the setlist and Wes Orshoski’s photo gallery.

In a recent message on JudasPriest.com, Tipton, 70, wrote, in part: “I have been overwhelmed by the massive support and love I’ve had from other artists and from fans all over the world and from many friends and metal maniacs out there — it’s not the end for me — I’ll still be able to write and record and on good days even join the band on stage for a few songs — with new medication and advances being made who knows what the future holds — but one thing’s for sure — it will certainly involve Priest!”
