An exhibit containing photographs, videos and memorabilia pertaining to John Scher’s work as a concert promoter at Convention Hall in Asbury Park and the Capitol Theatre in Passaic, in the 1970s and 1980s, will run at the Where Music Lives gallery in Asbury Park from Nov. 14 to Dec. 27. Among the items to be shown at “From the Boardwalk to the Capitol” are photographs and artwork by Bob Leafe, David McGough, Moyssi, Kevin Papa, Ebet Roberts and Joe Streno.
Scher, whose career dates back to the late ’60s, still promotes shows in New Jersey and New York through his company, Metropolitan Entertainment.
The gallery’s current exhibit, devoted to the career of Steven Van Zandt, is on display through Nov. 1.
