Morristown Jazz & Blues Festival favorites LaBamba & the Hubcaps will return to the lineup for this year’s edition of the free, annual festival, which will take place outdoors on the Morristown Green, Aug. 15.
The festival’s headliner cannot be announced yet, but the other four acts are in place.
The James Langton New York All-Star Big Band, a swing band featuring clarinetist Dan Levinson and singer Molly Ryan, will kick off the festival at noon, followed by Richard Baratta’s Gotham City Latin/Jazz Septet at 2 p.m. Drummer Baratta is joined in the group by keyboardist Bill O’Conner, saxophonist Craig Handy, guitarist Paul Bollenbeck, bassist Michael Geotz, percussionist Paul Rossman and singer Caroll W. Scott.
LaBamba & the Hubcaps — led by longtime Asbury Jukes member Richie “LaBamba” Rosenberg, on trombone and vocals — will perform at 4 p.m.
Dylan Triplett — whose Who Is He? was named Best Emerging Artist Album in the 2023 Blues Music Awards — will then perform at 6 p.m.
The headliner, who cannot be announced until late June, will close the festival, from 8 to 10 p.m.
Lawn chairs or blankets are recommended. Attendees can bring their own food or eat at one of the many restaurants surrounding the festival area in downtown Morristown. For information, visit morristownjazzandblues.org.
