Buddy Guy will perform in New Brunswick, Aug. 8.
Buddy Guy, who titled his 2025 album Ain’t Done With the Blues, will live up to that phrase with his Buddy Guy 90 Tour, which will come to The State Theatre in New Brunswick, Aug. 8. Guy, who has thrilled many generations of blues fans with his fiery guitar playing, will turn 90 on July 30 of this year.
State Theatre tickets will go on sale Jan 23 at 10 a.m., with pre-sales beginning Jan. 21 at 10 a.m. Visit stnj.org.
Guy has been a leading blues performer since the ’60s, when he became a cornerstone of the vibrant Chicago blues scene after moving to that city from his original home state, Louisiana.
Ain’t Done with the Blues — which features guest performances by Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, Joe Bonamassa, Joe Walsh, Peter Frampton and The Blind Boys of Alabama — was nominated for a Grammy in the Traditional Blues Album category. If Guy wins, this would be his ninth Grammy; the ceremony will be on Feb. 1.
(You can listen to “How Blues Is That,” featuring Walsh, below.)
Guy also contributed to the soundtrack of the 2025 film “Sinners,” and made a brief appearance in the film itself.
