Saxophonist Maceo Parker — whose long career includes work with James Brown, Parliament-Funkadelic and Prince — will be among the performers at this year’s edition of the free, outdoor Sounds of the City series at NJPAC in Newark.
Eight shows are scheduled for Thursdays in July and August, from 5 to 9 p.m. Other performers will include rapper Rah Digga, the rap duo EPMD, salsa singer Frankie Negrón and the Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra.
