Every year, the McDonald’s Gospelfest brings an abundant array of gospel talent to the Prudential Center in Newark. This year’s event, subtitled “When the Choir Meets the Quartet” and featuring Bishop Hezekiah Walker, The Blind Boys of Alabama, Faith Evans and countless others, takes place Saturday; it will begin at 3 p.m. and end late in the evening. I’ve been to quite a few of these shows and know they offer dynamic performances for hours on end.

New Jersey celebrated its 350th birthday in 2014. And in the 350 Jersey Songs series, we marked the occasion by posting 350 songs — one a day, from September 2014 to September 2015 — that have something to do with the state, its musical history, or both. To see the entire list, click here.
