Horizon Foundation Sounds of the City — the free, annual outdoors concert series at NJPAC in Newark — will go virtual this year with a series of online DJ dance parties.

“We’re all frustrated, we’re all uncertain,” said NJPAC executive vice president and executive producer David Rodriguez, in a press release. “More than ever before, we really need an opportunity to surround ourselves with great music, to get up and dance, and to do so as part of a community. We hope these live dance parties, presented in a format that allows you to see that your friends and neighbors are listening in their own homes at the same time, will be a welcome weekly break in the pandemic routine for all.”

The shows will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. on facebook.com/NJPAC.

Here is the schedule:

July 2: DJ Ran and DJ Wallah
July 9: DJ Blazer One
July 16: “Home” with Rich Medina
July 23: DJ Lobo
July 30: Danny Krivit, “718 Sessions/Body and Soul”
Aug. 6: Felix Hernandez’s “Rhythm Revue Dance Party”
Aug. 13: Beverly Bond
Aug. 20: “Make It Funky” with DJ Spinna
Aug. 27: DJ Kiss and DJ M.O.S.
