
The lineup has been confirmed for the grand opening of The Obama Presidential Center.
Barack Obama and Michelle Obama will make speeches, and Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, U2 members Bono & the Edge, Eddie Vedder, Jennifer Hudson and John Legend will be among the artists performing at the grand opening ceremony of The Obama Presidential Center in Chicago, June 18, with a livestream beginning at 11 a.m. CT.
Other confirmed performers include Marc Anthony, The Roots, Christina Aguilera, Common, Tems, Guitars Over Guns, and The Illinois National Guard Color Guard. Marsai Martin, Marty Nesbitt and Valerie Jarrett will speak, and an invocation will be led by Pastor Joel Hunter and Joshua DuBois.
According to the center’s website, “The Grand Opening Ceremony marks the official dedication of the Obama Presidential Center. The livestreamed event brings together global leaders, artists, changemakers, and citizens for an inspiring celebration of the values that shaped the Obama presidency and continues to inspire people everywhere to believe in their power to create change.
“Tune in right here at 11 a.m. CT on June 18 for a front-row seat to history no matter where you are.”
Also, according to the site, “Ticketed guests will watch the star-studded ceremony on the big screen at Midway Plaisance Park near the Center.”
