Pink Floyd performed at Roosevelt Stadium on June 18, 1973. (The show was postponed from June 16 due to rain.)
With zero fanfare, Pink Floyd has released concert recordings from 18 1973 concerts, including their June 18 show at Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City. You can listen to the tracks in the videos embedded below. (Warning: The sound is not great.)
This has been done in an intentionally low-profile way. According to a Variety article by Jem Aswad, this was done as a “copyright dump” that is “owing to a not-entirely-clear European Union ruling stating that artists must ‘use or lose’ (i.e. officially issue) sound recordings within 50 years of their creation. If they do not, the recordings then go into public domain and become fair game for anyone to release legally without compensating the creator(s).”
Pink Floyd’s landmark Dark Side of the Moon album was released in March 1973. The Jersey City show was part of its Dark Side of the Moon Tour and featured that album in its entirety as well as other songs.
