A new video for the sublimely beautiful Maggie Roche song, “Christmas Love,” has been made, and can be seen on YouTube. It is also embedded below.

Roche, the Park Ridge native who was a member of the folk-pop trio The Roches, died in January 2017, at the age of 65. Last month, a two-CD compilation of songs she wrote for The Roches and other projects, Where Do I Come From: Selected Songs, was released. There are four previously unreleased tracks on the set, including “Christmas Love,” which Maggie wrote and arranged, but never recorded. It is sung on Where Do I Come From by her sister and Roches partner Suzzy Roche; Suzzy’s daughter Lucy Wainwright Roche; Maggie and Suzzy’s brother Dave Roche; Dave’s daughter Oona Roche, and Daisy Press.

Suzzy and singer-songwriter Christine Lavin made the video. According to a message from Suzzy at the start of the video, they “asked friends of The Roches to provide images of the holidays that are meaningful to them,” then made the video out of those images.

The Sheen Center for Thought & Culture in New York will present “A Celebration of the Songs of Maggie Roche with a Holiday Twist,” Dec. 4 at 8 p.m. Participants will include Suzzy Roche, Lucy Wainwright Roche, Dave Roche, Oona Roche and Daisy Press, along with The Indigo Girls, Rachelle Garniez, Felix McTeigue and Dick Connette. Visit sheencenter.org.

Also, Suzzy Roche and Lucy Wainwright Roche will perform with Loudon Wainwright III (Suzzy’s ex-husband and Lucy’s father) at a show titled “All in a Family” at the South Orange Performing Arts Center, Nov. 30 at 8 p.m. Visit sopacnow.org.
