MS NOW will offer a livestream of the Power to the People Festival, Oct. 3.
The Power to the People Festival — the sold-out “Day of Peace, Love, Justice, and Music” taking place at The Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland, on Oct. 3 — will stream live, for free, on MS NOW’S YouTube channel.
The festival is curated by Tom Morello and will feature Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews, Joan Baez, Public Enemy, Brittany Howard, Killer Mike, Cypress Hill, The Linda Lindas, Dropkick Murphys, Serj Tankian, Jack Black, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, Taylor Momsen, Matt Cameron and others. Bruce Springsteen is billed as a “special guest.”
MS NOW also has a contest in which it is giving away tickets to the show; visit ms.now/power-to-the-people-contest.
According to the festival’s website, it “brings together artists, fans, activists, organizations and community leaders for an unforgettable day celebrating the power of music and collective action to inspire change.”
Morello says on the website: “The Power To The People festival is about freedom, justice, equality and rock and roll. It’s about the power everyday human beings have when they come together through music, art, community, and action. We’re honored to bring this incredible lineup to the DC area for a day that celebrates the spirit of activism, creativity, and hope.”
