BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN

“Rare and never before seen” footage of Bruce Springsteen is promised for an Asbury Park Music & Film Festival presentation, April 27 at 4 p.m. at Asbury Park’s Paramount Theatre. The clips come from the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, and tickets are $15-$25; visit apmff.org.

Director and archivist Thom Zimny, who has worked with Springsteen on many projects, is putting together the presentation, which will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A session moderated by Chris Phillips, editor of Backstreets magazine.

In a press release, Eileen Chapman, director of the Springsteen Archives, described the footage as “spanning Bruce Springsteen’s live career on stage.”

Other festival participants will include David Crosby, Cameron Crowe, The Farrelly Brothers, Gary U.S. Bonds, Jakob Dylan, Cat Power, Hot Water Music and Jazz Is Phish. Films about Asbury Park (“Asbury Park: Riot. Redemption. Rock ‘n Roll”) and Clarence Clemons (“Who Do I Think I Am?”) will be shown, as will rare clips of Bob Dylan.

This is the fifth annual Asbury Park Music and Film Festival. For information, visit apmff.org.
