Temporarily prevented from presenting concerts, like everyone else, Remember Jones will produce, direct and host a 30- to 45-minute internet talk/variety show, “The Crack of Noon With Remember Jones.” Starting March 27, it can be seen Fridays at noon EST, or streamed for 12 hours after the initial airing.
The debut episode will feature veteran New Jersey rock musician Glen Burtnik (a member of the band, The Weeklings) and Marilyn Schlossbach (owner and executive chef at Langosta Lounge in Asbury Park.
The April 3 show will feature Tara Elliott (a musician as well as the owner and designer of the Bettie’s Bombshells boutique in Asbury Park), singer-songwriter Quincy Mumford and comedian Ryan Maher.
The April 10 lineup is Renee Maskin of the band Lowlight, singer-songwriter Taylor Tote and Chris Barlow (owner of Big Barlow’s BBQ & Catering in Barnegat).
Mark Masefield, who plays keyboards in Remember Jones’ band, will also contribute to each show.
The series will feature interviews, sketches and musical performances. Jones calls it “a cross between ‘Pee-wee’s Playhouse’ and ‘The Rosie O’Donnell Show.’ ”
Episodes will be filmed with a small crew at the Axelrod Performing Arts Center in Deal, which is co-sponsoring the show.
There will be a fee of $20 for the first episode, or $50 for the first three. Proceeds will help those working on the show.
