Roy’s Hall in Blairstown has been offering streams of live shows during the pandemic and, following Gov. Phil Murphy’s signing of an executive order allowing music venues to operate at 25 percent capacity, will start letting people attend, too, in a socially distanced manner. The shows will still be streamed, but up to 45 people per show can also buy tickets to be there in person.
The four shows currently on the historic theater’s schedule that will follow this format will be:
Sept. 9: The Atlanta Cafe Band
Sept. 12: Peter Karp, album release show for Magnificent Heart
Sept. 30: A.J. Croix & the Devil’s Right Hand Band
Oct. 17: The Outcrops

About a month ago, the theater started a GoFundMe campaign intended to help it survive the pandemic. It is still active at gofundme.com/f/help-save-roys-hall.
“We had been looking forward to increased growth in 2020 and an expansion of our show schedule but it wasn’t to be,” wrote co-owner Mark Clifford on the page, adding that the theater “is struggling to meet our basic fixed overhead expenses and pay for essential building repairs. … sponsorships have dried up and fundraising has fallen to dangerously low levels. WE NEED YOUR HELP!”
