SOUTHSIDE JOHNNY & THE ASBURY JUKES

As it has often done in the past, SiriusXM Satellite Radio’s E Street Radio channel (channel 20) will broadcast Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes’ New Year’s Eve concert at The Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank, this year. But since the concert has an early start time of 6 p.m. (with doors opening at 5 p.m.) and will be over by 9, it won’t be live. The taped broadcast will start around 10 p.m. Eastern Time, E Street Radio DJ Jim Rotolo said on the air, today.

Jukes keyboardist Jeff Kazee will also perform in the theater’s mezzanine lobby, at 4:30 p.m., for 150 people. Tickets for “The Party Before the Party” will only be available for those attending the main concert, but a separate ticket is required and will include “early entry, private performance, collectable poster and complimentary cocktail,” according to the Basie website. Visit ticketmaster.com for pre-show details.

Also, after the Basie show, Jukes guitarist Glenn Alexander and several other Jukes who play with him in his band Shadowland will drive up to Morristown to perform two late-night sets at First Night Morris.
