On Feb. 16, two days after Valentine’s Day, Southside Johnny & the Asbury Jukes will present a show titled “Stupid Cupid” at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park. It will feature “a mix of the hits and love songs,” according to a message on stoneponyonline.com. (Doors open at 7 p.m., and there will be an opening set by Remember Jones, performing in a “piano serenade” format.)

Southside and the Jukes traditionally present a show or shows with an unusual theme at the Stone Pony in February. “In winter, everybody needs a break, we need a break, and so we try to find new things to do,” Southside told me in a 2015 interview.

I think the title “Stupid Cupid” implies that he’s not going to just to sweet, sentimental love songs, though given his recording history, I don’t think that would have been very likely, anyway.

So, which songs might Southside perform? I have some ideas of my own, and I also put the question out to the Facebook group, Jukebox: Southside Johnny Fanzine, and lots of people made good suggestions.

So here are 21 possible candidates, mostly well known to Southside fans (but in a few cases, pretty obscure, and very unlikely to be played). They’re in no particular order.

Sorry I wasn’t able to include everyone’s suggestions!

(Update: Here is a link to review of the show, with setlist and videos, in case anyone wants to see what he actually did perform.)

“Love on the Wrong Side of Town”

“Hearts of Stone”
