The theme of Bruce Springsteen’s 21st show on SiriusXM satellite radio will be “Waiting on a Friend.”

“Waiting on a Friend” will be the theme of Bruce Springsteen’s 21th DJ show on SiriusXM satellite radio, debuting at 10 a.m. April 28 on the network’s E Street Radio channel (channel 20). On his E Street Radio show “The Wild and the Innocent,” April 26, DJ Jim Rotolo said the show will feature songs by The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, Steely Dan, Joni Mitchell, Springsteen himself and others.

“Waiting on a Friend,” of course, was a 1981 hit by The Rolling Stones.

(Update: On its blog, SiriusXM says the show is about “special rock ‘n’ roll friendships” and will also include a Clarence Clemons song, presumably “You’re a Friend of Mine.” The blog post also include a Springsteen quote from the show: “When you find that soulmate who understands every note, every syllable of every lyric of every song that ripped a hole in your heart, you know you’ve found a friend for life.”)

The show will be part of The Boss’ “From My Home to Yours” series, which Springsteen has been doing since April of 2020. You can read transcripts of what he has said on the previous 20 shows, and see YouTube videos of all the songs he has played, via these links:
