With the summer concert season pretty much here, it seemed like a good time to remind people that NJArts.net maintains a comprehensive, constantly updated list of free arts events throughout the state. You can always find it HERE.
There are currently more than 300 events there. Mostly concerts — by symphony orchestras, rock and blues bands, jazz and country combos, etc. But many New Jersey towns have not yet announced their summer schedules, so many more will be added in the weeks to come.
The list is maintained year-round, though, for obvious reasons, it is longest during the summer months.
The list is organized alphabetically, by county, with towns within each county also arranged autobiographically. Currently, 17 out of the state’s 21 counties are represented, though, as I said, the list is currently changing, so that may be different by the time you are reading this. If you know of any free shows I have missed, please email them to njartsdaily@gmail.com.
(Note: The list does not include shows at bars or restaurants that don’t have a cover charge. And movies are not included. The idea behind it is more to have a place to gather all the free music festivals, free outdoor concert series and free plays that are taking place throughout the state.)
