During the pandemic, The Basie Center has presented shows for socially distanced audiences in both its main theater and its smaller space, The Vogel, and its series of outdoor shows at the Suneagles Golf Club in Eatontown is scheduled to begin this weekend. Last year, it presented outdoor shows at the Blu Grotto restaurant at Monmouth Park in Oceanport.
In a press release, Basie president and CEO Adam Philipson called the Concerts on the Plaza series “yet another pivot for us to safely showcase the performing arts while we wait for the day we’re to open our historic theatre with a capacity that allows us to operate properly.”
