Tuesday from 2 to 8, Darlene Love will be shooting a video for her upcoming album on the Third Avenue Beach in Asbury Park, and the public is invited to be a part of the taping. The theme of the video will be a beach dance party.
All ages are welcome; “bright and colorful beach attire but no logos, photos or inappropriate sayings on the clothing” are requested.
For those who can’t make it … she’s be back on the shore soon. Love’s CD Release Celebration concert will take place at the Paramount Theatre in Asbury Park on Sept. 12, and Steven Van Zandt, who produced the album and will release it on his Wicked Cool label (with distribution from Columbia), will perform with her at that show, as will the Monmouth Symphony Orchestra and the Glory to God Orchestra.
Among those who contributed songs to the album are Van Zandt, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Jim Webb, Linda Perry, Desmond Child, Joan Jett and the team of Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil.
Love has also just announced that she will perform at the Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood on Feb. 13, with tickets going on sale this Friday.
